About the role
We are seeking a Senior Analyst – Analytics and Insights to join our Finance Business Partnering (FBP) team within Iron Ore. This is a newly created delivery-focused role where you will apply advanced analytics to solve real business problems and generate insights that drive financial performance and efficiency.
Reporting to the Manager – Analytics and Insights – FBP, you will:
Partner with Finance Business Partners and subject matter experts to frame business challenges, shape analytical approaches, and deliver insights that influence decisions.
Own and execute work across the end-to-end analytics lifecycle – from problem scoping and data sourcing through to development, embedding, and impact tracking of solutions.
Co-develop scalable, user-friendly tools and dashboards with business stakeholders to improve visibility of performance drivers and enable self-service insights.
Apply advanced analytics techniques (e.g. SQL, Python, Power BI) to uncover opportunities in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
What you’ll bring
5+ years of experience as a data science or analytics professional, with a proven ability to deliver solutions in operational or commercial settings.
Demonstrated experience managing the full end-to-end project lifecycle – from problem definition, data acquisition, and model development to deployment, adoption, and performance tracking.
High proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Python, VS Code, and MS Excel for data modelling, analysis, and tool development with experience in presenting outputs and insights in MS PowerPoint.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – able to engage stakeholders, influence decision-making and build trusted relationships across all levels.
A practical, impact-oriented mindset – with a passion for simplifying complexity and driving business performance through data
A foundation in Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline with a postgraduate qualification in Data Science. Prior experience working with SAP data and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) to support financial or operational analysis is desirable.

This is a Perth based role working out of our Central Park CBD office building with flexible working arrangements on offer.
