Who we’re looking for

Reporting into the Superintendent – Finance, Business and Improvement this role functions as the key point of contact for the relevant department relating to financial and business improvement matters. It drives the commercial mindset of the department and aims to improve the cost literacy of department members.

This is a Perth office-based role, located at our Subiaco Head Office with some travel to site on an ADHOC basis

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Department cost review, analysis and ownership (month-end, budget and quarterly forecast)
  • Driving Business Improvement function within relevant department
  • Provide relevant department with ongoing support in relation to cost management
  • Provide and scrutinise cost inputs for planning process
  • Assist with Life of Province Plan and new mining area evaluation including financial modelling
  • Answer ad-hoc queries on financial/cost from relevant department and other stakeholders

To succeed in this role, you will be a safety focused team player, self-motivated and have strong time management skills.  You will have experience with financial and management accounting as well as financial modelling. You will be comfortable in delivering to high standards, instigating business improvements and assisting junior team members.

We are looking for a strong communicator and influencer, someone who is highly collaborative and has a strong emphasis on innovation, best practice and leadership.

You’ll have a relevant degree qualification (or highly experienced) in Finance. Ideally, you will also have the following:

  • CA, CPA or equivalent
  • Experience using SAP and planning systems (IBM Cognos Planning Analytics)
  • Deliver high standards of financial governance
  • Knowledge of mining methods and mining economics
  • Previous exposure to mining will be highly desirable
