Our Worsley Alumina Refinery is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

South32 is seeking a Senior Automation & Control Engineer to support Major projects across all of our assets including our Worsley Alumina Refinery and Boddington Bauxite mine. These projects are aiming to secure bauxite supply, reduce energy intensity and carbon emissions and while improving production and environmental performance of the operation.  

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, compliance and sustainable development
• Develop and Design Control and Automation specific engineering documents.
• Provide consultation & guidance to Engineering Service Providers for project related aspects
• Review/Approve project specific documents such as P&ID drawings, Control function descriptions, I/O List etc
• Participate in FAT/SAT, review/develop commissioning plan, commissioning procedures

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• 10 years plus experience in mineral processing or similar industrial process control systems
• Experience in engineering, implementation and commissioning of process control applications on Honeywell Process Control System – EPKS, Safety System and TPS, Schneider Unity/Quantum PLC, Siemens PCS7, SEL RTAC and ABB MicroScada
• Multi-variable control and optimisers applications.
• Good understanding of Instrumentation and Control communication networks and protocols
• Demonstrated ability to develop and review process control documents and process improvements

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Bachelor Degree and/or relevant Australian Certification in Process Control/Electrical/ Chemical / Instrumentation / Process Engineering or Production and Processing (or similar)
