Business Improvement Professionals
Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
Reporting to Manager Business Planning and Improvement, we have opportunities for experienced professionals responsible for driving business improvement across Fortescue’s operations, delivering ambitious cost savings and volume targets. This includes supporting, coaching, building excitement, removing roadblocks and driving discipline for improvement efforts across sites and Perth support teams, and leading business improvement processes and routines for the operational lead team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving delivery of ambitious improvement targets across all areas of operations
- Supporting local improvement leads to establish an improvement management system
- Supporting the development of business plans, integrating inputs from across teams
- Driving excitement and energy around improvement efforts, including recognition
- Removing roadblocks for teams to rapidly deliver initiatives
- Coaching teams on how to use different improvement methodologies
- Establishing routines and metrics and to drive improvement discipline and delivery
- Working with operational hubs and functions to ensure alignment to broader organisational goals
- Assisting in the identification of opportunities to reduce expenditure, increase production, improve safety and culture
- Engaging stakeholders and facilitating workshops to help ensure the consideration of differing opinions and options
- Generation of Business Cases, Project Charters & Plans, potentially including Data Analytics & Root Cause Analysis
- Effectively present findings and updates to Management in a clear and concise manner
Qualifications and Experience:
- Postgraduate education in a business or mining related discipline
- Strong communication / interpersonal / facilitation skills
- Ability to work cohesively with and influence others
- Improvement, Project Management & Change Management experience is desired
- 5+ years of operational experience in a similar role within the Mining or Manufacturing industry
- Experience working within both Operations and/or Maintenance
