Senior Category Specialist 

Work Location: Perth

Roster: Monday to Friday

The primary purpose of this role is to support the contracts and procurement function for FFI, leading strategic sourcing, contract execution, delivery and close out as well as assisting with category strategy development for strategic procurement activities supporting FFI’s portfolio of major renewables projects globally.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities: 

  • Lead development of category sourcing strategy
  • Develop, coordinate and evaluate tender packages for Works, Capital Plant, Equipment and Services for project specific and strategic engagements
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions, to support establishment of frame agreements and call offs
  • Conduct sourcing activities in accordance with established Project Controls and Contracts and Procurement policies and procedures
  • E2E Supply Chain Analysis
  • Develop, implement and manage strategic agreements
  • Invent next generation commercial frameworks for portfolio scale
  • Drive supplier inputs to Manufacturing and Technology funnel
  • Provide reports, analysis and advice to support strategic procurement decision-making & business planning
  • Identify and evaluate key risks at a contract formation and seek input from other functions as appropriate (e.g. technical, legal etc.)

Qualification & Skills required: 

  • At least 7+ years’ experience in C&P within major projects or category management in the energy / infrastructure sector
  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business, law, engineering or construction desirable.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple work packages.
  • Attention to detail. Curiosity. Desire to be challenged, learn & adapt
  • Respectful manner with others.
  • Understands the importance of stakeholder relationships and can engage effectively with engineers, legal, quality management, project controls and logistics to co-ordinate and ensure contractual delivery parameters are met.
  • Self-driven and takes initiative to progress, deliver and build innovative approaches to own and team/unit work.
