Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Who we’re looking for  

Reporting to the Principal – Dam Safety, the Senior Civil Engineer will coordinate the safe and timely construction of Tailings Storage Facilities whilst championing Newcrest’s cultural, safety, environmental and quality standards.

This position is a key role in the current and future delivery of projects of the entire Tailings Storage Facilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Delivery of Tailings Storage Facilities and associated infrastructure.
  • Competency in management and all project phases from planning through to commissioning, including in bulk earthworks and tailings facilities.
  • Completion of all documentation for internal review including Safe work method statements and other documents / reports as required, and also setting up Work Packs and Scopes of Work.
  • Accountable for budget, schedule, WHS and Environmental deliverables.
  • Technical support for all team members in the carrying out of works.
  • Provide key inputs from internal and external stakeholders and establishment of KPI’s and other project metrics.
  • Challenge and optimise the design in field as conditions vary to suit in conjunction with design engineer.
  • Compile and manage input into the MDR (Material Data Record)

The ideal applicant will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

You will also possess the following:

  • Demonstrated Tailings Dam Experience.
  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering OR

Geotechnical Engineering discipline with extensive Tailings Dam Experience
