Senior Communications Professionals

Work Location: Various Perth-based and site-based roles

Roster: 5D/2R (Perth-based); 4D/3R (site-based)

It’s an exciting time to be a part of the Fortescue family and we are looking for experienced Senior Communications professionals to join our Communications team to drive and deliver the communications and employee engagement plan.

With a focus on delivering an innovative and engaging communications plan for our Operations and Corporate teams and acting as a trusted and skilled business partner to major portfolios including Health and Safety, Integrated Operations, Community, Decarbonisation and site-based Operations teams. You will be responsible to drive the communications and engagement strategy across our business, embedding our unique culture and values in all that we deliver, with the opportunity to make a direct impact on our employees and contractors across our businesses.

The roles will cover many areas of communications including developing the communications plans specific to major projects and sites, writing, design, content creation and developing innovative digital channels to engage our teams with messages and information they care about, supporting overall business objectives.

These roles would suit dynamic communications professionals with the ability to showcase Fortescue’s success to both key internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop engaging proactive and reactive content across our internal and external communications platforms
  • Evaluate impact of communications channels and messages to our frontline employees, to achieve real and measurable engagement
  • Work closely with leadership teams as a trusted advisor, developing messaging to manage complex and sensitive issues and promote team and business objectives
  • Protect and promote Fortescue’s reputation through crisis communications and strategic advice
  • Support events for internal activities on site, community engagement events, and high-profile external events
  • Ensure all content is underpinned by our Values and produced in line with global communications, brand and market disclosure guidelines

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A strong background in internal communications, with the opportunity to leverage other skills including media, content creation, public relations and events
  • A bachelor’s degree in communications or related discipline/field such as public relations, digital communications or journalism is preferred
  • Understanding of mining operations and green energy industries is ideal
  • Demonstrated understanding of tailoring writing and content for various channels and audiences
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced  and dynamic environment
