Senior Communities Specialist
Work location: Adelaide
Roster: Monday to Friday
Working closely with the State Manager South Australia, the Senior Communities Specialist is to ensure that the communities function anticipates and support business planning and execution to deliver outcomes around approvals, land access and local content and benefits
Key responsibilities:
- Assist the State Manager South Australia and Group Manager Community and Government Engagement in ensuring the Fortescue Energy strategic engagement with native title parties and communities (including landholders) on renewable energy projects enhance Fortescue’s ability to access and develop renewable resources.
- Engage within the business to understand the priorities of other functions and ensure that Communities support complements their activities.
- Work with Group Manager Community and Government Engagement to support development and integration of best practice approaches across Fortescue assets, while meeting current and emerging societal and ESG expectations in progressing community outcomes.
- Develop novel ideas to leverage success in engagement with Communities, and support the development of communications material that can be used outside South Australia to broadly strengthen Fortescue’s reputation.
Qualifications and skills required:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar social performance position, particularly stakeholder engagement in the Upper Spencer Gulf region.
- Demonstrated experience and capability to lead a team.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Significant experience in design, development and delivery of industry leading social studies and associated management plans.
- Strong eye for attention to detail and accuracy.
- High level written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of passion for renewable energy.
- Proven ability for credible and authentic engagement with strong interpersonal skills.
- High level of self-motivation with a demonstrated ability in resilience when managing diverse workloads and priorities and deliver quality and timely results.
- Extremely well developed analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
- University degree in relevant discipline.
