Senior Contracts and Procurement Specialist
Work Location: Perth
Roster: Monday to Friday
Reporting to the Contracts, Procurement & Supply Chain Manager, the primary purpose of this role is to support the contracts function for FFI, assisting the management of contract execution, delivery and close out for contracts and procurement for FFI’s science & technology portfolio.
Key responsibilities:
- Source and administer procurement contracts with research institutions and universities, consultants and suppliers for technology, goods and services
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions to support project schedules and budgets and adequately protect IP rights
- Conduct sourcing activities in accordance with established Contracts and Procurement policies and procedures
- Develop well written, well-structured procurement documentation that supports business requirements
- Identify and maximise cost saving opportunities
- Provide reports, analysis and advice to support procurement decision-making
- Identify and evaluate key risks at a contract formation and seek input from other functions as appropriate (e.g. technical, legal etc.)
- Maintain and update procurement records and generate reports on procurement and contract activity to meet organisational compliance requirements and provide access to procurement information
- Contract administration to support execution and delivery, including correspondence and contract notices and claims assessment
- Work as part of the team to deliver value through competitive sourcing and effective contract management
Qualifications and skills required:
- +5 years’ experience in Contracts Administration
- Bachelor's degree in commerce, business or law desirable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple packages
- Good attention to detail
- Understands the importance of stakeholder relationships and can engage effectively with engineers, legal, finance and logistics to co-ordinate and ensure contractual delivery parameters are met
- Self-driven and takes initiative to progress and deliver own work
