Senior Contracts and Procurement Specialist
Work Location: Perth, WA
Roster: Monday to Friday
Reporting to the Contracts & Procurement Lead Manufacturing Projects, the primary purpose of this role is to support the contracts function for FFI, assisting the management of tendering, contract execution, delivery and close out for key contracts and procurement for FFI’s major renewables projects globally.
Key responsibilities:
- Contribute to ongoing development of global sourcing strategy
- Conduct sourcing activities in accordance with established Project Controls and Contracts and Procurement policies and procedures
- Review technical documentation for commercial and contractual risks
- Develop, coordinate, and evaluate tender packages under a range of contract types
- Negotiate price and contract terms to support project schedule and budget with domestic and international suppliers
- Ability to apply various commercial models to deliver best cost and schedule outcomes
- End to end Contract Administration
- Preparation of package strategies
- Develop well written, well-structured tender and contract documentation
- Identify and evaluate key risks at contract formation and seek input from other functions as appropriate (e.g. technical, legal etc.)
- Preparation and issue of correspondence and contract notices
- Manage and monitor post contract award adherence to the contract and the contracting model including assessment of progress claims and reconciliation of unfixed pricing mechanisms (e.g. bill of quantities, provisional sums etc.)
- Review and provide advice to project team on received claims for delays, extension of time and variations in accordance with the contract to resolution
- Maintain and update procurement records and generate reports on procurement and contract activity to meet organisational compliance requirements and provide access to procurement information
Qualifications and skills required:
- +7 years’ experience in Contracts within major projects and /or energy industries (renewable energy experience desirable)
- Bachelor's degree in commerce, quantity surveying, business, law, or construction desirable
- Self-driven and takes initiative to progress and deliver own and team/unit work
- Provide leadership, support and guidance to team members
- Strong contract negotiation and clause drafting skills
- Demonstrated experience in internal and external stakeholder engagement across multiple disciplines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple packages on domestic and international fronts
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing project conditions
