Reporting to the Contracts and Procurement Lead, this role is responsible for supporting the successful delivery of Fortescue’s Major Projects portfolio through the provision of high-quality contracts and procurement services. You will play a key role in the development, execution, and administration of construction, procurement, and service contracts, ensuring commercial outcomes are achieved while supporting project schedules, budgets, and operational requirements.
Working closely with project, engineering, legal, commercial, and supply chain stakeholders, you will provide expert contract and procurement support across the project lifecycle, from tender development and evaluation through to contract administration and close-out.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and manage tender packages for construction contracts, procurement activities, and service agreements
- Lead tender evaluations and support sourcing activities in accordance with approved procurement and contracting strategies
- Negotiate commercial terms and conditions, including pricing and risk allocation, to support project objectives
- Prepare clear, comprehensive, and commercially robust contract and procurement documentation
- Support the administration of contracts during execution, including management of correspondence, notices, and contractual obligations
- Assess and manage variations, payment claims, and extension of time submissions
- Develop and maintain detailed pricing schedules, methods of measurement, and commercial evaluation frameworks
- Identify commercial risks during pre-contract phases and collaborate with technical, legal, and project stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies
- Maintain procurement and contract records to ensure compliance with governance and reporting requirements
- Generate reports and provide commercial insights to support procurement and contract management decisions
- Identify opportunities to improve commercial outcomes and deliver cost savings across projects
- Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to capability development and knowledge sharing
- Work collaboratively across project teams to maximise value through effective sourcing and contract management practices
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum five years' experience in contract administration, procurement, or commercial roles within mining, resources, infrastructure, or major construction projects
- Experience managing construction contracts across civil, SMP (Structural, Mechanical and Piping), and EIC (Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls) work scopes
- Strong understanding of procurement, tendering, and contract administration processes
- Demonstrated experience negotiating commercial terms and managing contractual risk
- Experience assessing payment claims, variations, and extension of time claims
- Sound understanding of construction methodologies, project delivery models, and project schedules
- Ability to interpret and prepare complex commercial and contractual documentation
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify commercial risks and opportunities
- High level of proficiency in contract management and procurement systems
- Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, Commerce, Engineering, or a related discipline is highly regarded
