This is an exciting opportunity to get in at the ground level of a rapidly expanding, dynamic, global green energy business. Fortescue Future Industries is currently undertaking a rapid expansion and are seeking applications for a Senior Document Controller.
The primary role of this position is to coordinate and facilitate the accurate recording, storing, maintenance and continual improvement of FFI documentation in accordance with appropriate policies and regulations. This role will work alongside the Principal to update, develop and manage document control systems and processes to streamline and manage all document control flow for projects/departments. This is a great team to work with and lots of opportunity for growth & learning.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Develop and improve existing document control procedures according to Company standards determining project changes.
- Monitor all project/corporate registers and information systems in respect of documents, drawings, scope, design variations etc
- Execute major projects, implement process and information transfer to achieve business and regulatory compliance outcomes
- Conduct internal audits of the document control system and reporting to ensure that policies and procedures are fit for purpose and being followed
- Build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders and vendors to ensure correct information is available in a timely and accurate manner
In order to be successful in this role:
Candidates must be able to bring a flexible mindset, challenge traditional thinking, and be prepared to work outside of their comfort zone
- Minimum 6 years experience Document Control
- Strong internal customer service experience
- Experience working with vendors/contractors
- Has relevant experience with implementing and maintaining new processes and procedures.
- Strong attention to details
- Advanced computer skills
- Microsoft Office Suite including Word Advanced
- Requires excellent fault-finding skills and the ability to solve practical problems
- Excellent organisation and planning capability
- A commitment to developing a dynamic and friendly team
- Ideally experienced with managing the workload of other document controllers
- Comfort to work in a rapidly growing business
- PIMS experience ideal
