Title: Senior Electrical Designer– Green Fleet Development
Work location: Perth based (Hazelmere)
Roster: 5/2 Roster (Mon to Fri)
In support of Fortescue’s strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Green Fleet projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet
Based out our new Hazelmere R&D facility and reporting to the Principal Design Green Fleet Development, we are presently looking for a Senior Electrical Designer.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Design and deliver Electrical systems for Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) Green Fleet
- Assisting the Electrical Engineers to convert sketches and drawings into formal high quality Electrical Drawings
- Taking a lead in identifying mistakes and finding solutions
- Ensure documentation to FFI standard is provided.
- Design review and validation of various engineering designs and associated components
- Capable of prioritizing and delivering work in a fast-moving environment
- Proactively deliver on the company’s stretch targets
- Support in developing technical specifications to meet project specific objectives
- Liaising with a range of key stakeholders on all technical aspects of projects
- Providing regular updates to the Principal Design including work progress, risks, and priorities
Qualifications and skills required:
- Electrical, Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering degree or diploma
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Electrical drafting experience
- Solid understanding of drafting checks and processes
- Sound knowledge of Electrical Schematic Drawings
- Comfortable correcting Electrical Design mistakes/improvements
- Previous experience with Mobile equipment Electrical Drafting desirable
- Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and in multidiscipline teams
- High commitment to safety
