Aeris acquired Cracow Gold Operations on 1 July 2020 and holds a significant tenement package over the Cracow goldfields covering 935km2.

Role Summary

The Senior Emergency Management Advisor is responsible for establishing and maintaining Cracow’s medical and emergency response capabilities and coordinating the site’s emergency response activities. Reporting to the HSET Manager, this role forms part of the departments Senior Advisor team, alongside Environmental, Training and Health and Safety specialists. Your success in this role will be your ability to proactively manage and continuously develop the emergency response capabilities on site and confidently facilitate training in all aspects of Emergency Management. You will be engaging with all levels of the site team to ensure the operation is well prepared for all emergency scenarios.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and perform emergency incident response and injury management, including onsite medic for emergency call outs and fitness for work programs.
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement site emergency procedures, maintain response plans, manuals and protocols.
  • Develop, schedule and deliver nationally recognised emergency response training through our established Registered Training Organisation affiliation
  • Develop and execute evacuation and routine rescue scenarios to operations
  • Create, maintain and deliver site emergency preparedness training, including mentoring and development of site medical personnel, emergency response teams and members of the Incident management Team (IMT).
  • Maintain the training matrix, by updating training records and associated registers
  • Maintain emergency response equipment and consumables
Skills and experience
  • CERT III in Emergency Response and Rescue or equivalent
  • CERT IV in Training and Assessment
  • Underground Metalliferous or Coal Mining emergency response experience – closed circuit breathing apparatus training advantageous (eg. Draeger BG4)
  • Advanced First Aid Qualification – Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) qualification or higher advantageous
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering emergency response training
  • Knowledge of contemporary ERT protocols.
  • Clear and effective communication both verbal and written 
  • Drug and Alcohol testing qualification
  • Proficient User of Microsoft Office suite
  • Exceptional communication skills including interpersonal, negotiation, influencing, verbal and written.
  • General Health and Safety skills and experience advantageous
