We are looking for an engaging, safety focused Senior Engineer to lead our Maintenance Planning and Engineering (MP&E) Engineering Team at our West Angelas Operations.

This role presents a fantastic opportunity to draw on your people leadership skills and technical knowledge. The Senior Engineer and their team will provide support to the Fixed Plant and Mobile Maintenance teams. They will lead a diverse team of multi-disciplined Engineers – Reliability, Electrical and Controls Engineers (E&C) – and work a 5:2:4:3 roster flying in and out from Perth to West Angelas.

You will partner with key stakeholders of the fixed plant and mobile maintenance teams to provide effective improvements in equipment availability, best practice tactics and productivity solutions.

Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance Planning and Engineering and working in a challenging and exciting environment, you will bring:

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Leadership experience and confidence in coaching and developing a diverse group of Engineers on a continuous improvement journey.
  • Experience in Fixed Plant and Mobile Maintenance
  • Experience in the Defect Elimination Process and tools
  • Demonstrated complex problem-solving abilities to deliver solutions across an operation
  • Coordinating and driving asset tactics strategy, assessment and the completion of review requests
  • Experience in prioritisation and allocation of projects to Reliability and Electrical and Controls Engineers
  • Experience in partnering with teams at all levels to deliver business objectives
  • Supporting the planning team with major maintenance works such as major component replacements and belt management.
  • Project Managing capital projects
  • Providing advice on remaining life of asset to inform Operational capital prioritisation

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will need to have demonstrated experience of:

  • Strong safety leadership qualities
  • Strong partnership with operations and maintenance
  • Managed medium to large size multidisciplinary technical teams
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and key stakeholders across the business

Additional qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering is required for this role
  • A current and valid manual ‘C Class’ driver's license
  • At least 5 years’ experience of working in Resources industry

Where you will be working

Located 110km west of Newman, West Angelas operates on a fly in fly out roster from Perth, Broome, and Busselton.

West Angelas is a pioneer in autonomous technologies – we were the first site to trial autonomous haul trucks and incorporate autonomous drilling into our operations in 2008, and we continue to have one of the largest mining fleets in the Pilbara.

Our high grade, low phosphorous Marra Mamba orebody is an integral part of the Pilbara Blend, contributing both lump and fines products on around four trains each day. At the West Angelas hub there are state-of-the-art power generation and refuelling facilities. These facilities supply power and diesel fuel to the East Pilbara mine sites.

The future is bright at West Angelas with ongoing growth projects at Deposits C and D, as well as additional deposits under study providing enormous opportunities for personal development and career growth.
