Senior Engineer

Macmahon has a rare opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join our team at Tropicana working on a large scale alliance style contract. The barriers of the typical client / contractor relationship do not exist. A data driven efficiency approach enables the engineering team to operate similarly to an owner operator mining style. CAT Minestar and Terrain HPGPS system
Autonomous and line-of-sight drilling capabilities
Alastri, Vulcan and Xeras software
SQL and Power BI reporting

The Tropicana Gold Mine is located 330 kilometres northeast of Kalgoorlie on the edge of Western Australia’s Great Victoria Desert. Macmahon’s scope of work includes mine planning, drill and blast, load and haul, crusher feed. Production at Tropicana stands at a whopping 93.5 milion tonnes ore per annum. The fleet consists of;

3 x 600t dig units
2 x 400t dig units
24 x CAT 793F / Liebherr T264 electric drive trucks
9 x platform drills capable of single pass 12m benches with 229mm diameter hole
5 x Sandvik Di650i Down-Hole-Hammer drills 
 

The role

• Provide mentoring & guidance to theTech Services team (Production, Planning and D&B)
• Provide guidance to frontline leadership regarding scheduled targets
• Support leadership team in Full-Asset-Potential initiatives
• Manage delegated Full-Asset-Potential projects
• Sub-contractor engagement 
• Assist with sub-contractor management
• Month to date financial tracking
• Analysis of actual vs budget
• Contribute to forecasts and budgets from client schedules
• Contribute to the 12 month cost model generation

The ideal candidate

• Engineering degree or equivalent
• 7yrs+ post-graduation experience 
• Manual Drivers Licence
• Currently holds or plans to obtain QM Certificate
