Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s Maintenance Planning and Engineering team is looking to recruit a tertiary qualified Senior Engineer to support our Marandoo operation in the Pilbara of Western Australia.

Reporting to the Superintendent, Maintenance Planning and Engineering, this vital leadership role will be responsible for a small team of Electrical and Controls, Reliability and Project Engineers across both Fixed Plant and Mobile Equipment Maintenance.  Key deliverables for the Senior Engineer will be to support the Safe Production System rollout, revamping the shut strategy of the plant and improve the plant to unlock 18Mt for 2025. 

What you’ll bring

To be considered suitable for this position, applicants will have:

·         A demonstrated commitment to safety leadership

·         Proven leadership capability across multi-disciplinary technical teams

·         Experience working with Electrical and Control systems

·         Sound technical knowledge of Fixed Plant and Mobile Equipment Maintenance

·         Mechanical, Reliability or Electrical Engineering tertiary qualification

·         Demonstrated site based, open pit mining industry experience

·         A current and full manual “C” Class drivers’ licence

This position will be offered on a fly in, fly out roster from Perth (5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off) and will suit Perth residents or those willing to relocate to Perth on a permanent basis.

Where you’ll be working

The Marandoo mine is located at the foot of Mount Bruce adjacent to the Karijini National Park, 50 km east of the town of Tom Price in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Marandoo is known for its picturesque hills and mountain ranges. Our operation currently employs a fly in fly out workforce.
