With this we have a Contracts Mining Engineers role available and this role is to provide commercial and contractual support to sites and prepare tenders to secure future work in accordance with Perenti Mining Australia’s strategic objectives..

Key accountabilities & responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance/adherence to the policies and procedures of Perenti and/or any subsidiaries.
  • Ensure that contractual risks are addressed and all material risks / issues are communicated to the relevant Operations Manager and to the Manager Contracts for review.
  • Prepare pricing for tenders using the the relevant tendering procedure.
  • Assist in the development of scopes of work, contract schedules, contract terms and conditions and related documents.
  • Actively manage and administer existing site contracts for relevant projects.
  • Attend as required negotiations and related contract and commercial discussions.
  • Administration of contract data in relevant information management system(s).
  • Engages with internal and external stakeholders in order to provide the best possible outputs.

  • Demonstrates ability to analyse contractual information and extract meaningful insights.
  • Dependably exercises sound judgement and be able to provide a basis for decision making.
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and the ability to meet multiple deadlines. (essential)
  • Delivers high quality outputs that are accurate, clearly laid out and relevant to the audience.
  • Excellent English communications skills and ability to work within diverse teams. (essential)

  • Appreciates the importance of information security, safeguards commercial and confidential information and respects confidentiality agreements. (essential)
  • Understanding of all relevant regulatory requirements associated with mining operations.
  • Observes safety procedures and uses equipment and materials properly, demonstrates knowledge of risk and safety management systems and processes associated with mining operations.
  • Very high level of proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel and Word.

Education, Qualifiaction & Training

  • Relevant Honours or Bachelor’s Degree in mining engineering or related discipline. (essential)
  • 5 years relevant mining experience. (essential)
  • Post-graduate qualification in legal/commercial or related discipline. (desirable)
  • Post-graduate qualification in mineral economics. (desirable)
  • Valid Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’. (desirable)
