About the Role

To provide a high level of technical support to stakeholders for WAIOs portfolio of Water Storage Facilities (WSF) and Tailing Storage Facilities (TSFs).

Reporting to the Principal Dam Engineer WAIO, you will be responsible for:

  • Provide technical support to Operations with technical queries, risk management and blueprint updates.
  • Ensure governance of WSF and TSFs in the portfolio as per internal and external standards.
  • Liaison with Engineering and Asset Level Project teams along different stages of project development to ensure designs meet engineering standards and are the right solution for the business
  • Participate in technical audits with internal and external regulators to ensure dam safety.
  • Coordination of contracted services by consultancies and review of deliverables.
  • Contribute improvement initiatives in relation to asset management.
  • Provide support for the Civil and Dams stream of work against recent changes to WA Work Health and Safety legislation.
  • Site travel required to various sites approximately 2 days per fortnight.

About You

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • An overriding commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
  • Site experience involving management of civil/Geotech or water related infrastructure assets
  • Ability to work on multiple simultaneous tasks autonomously and develop good relationships with internal stakeholders, external customers and consultancies.
  • Ability to communicate complex information in simple terms for senior management, including preparation of technical and non-technical documents.
  • Familiarity with BHP processes and systems (e.g. MOC, SAP, AIMS, SPO, GRC)
  • Experience with BHPs Risk Management framework is desirable.
