Senior Engineer - Greenbushes

The Greenbushes project is located in the picturesque South West region of Western Australia in the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes. Our client, Talison Lithium, is the world’s leading lithium minerals concentrate provider and the Greenbushes project is recognised as containing the world’s highest grade and largest hard rock deposit of the lithium mineral spodumene. Macmahon is pleased to deliver surface mining operations at the project from 01 July 2023.

 
Macmahon is seeking expressions of interest for a Senior Mining Engineer to join the Greenbushes team on a Drive-In-Drive-Out (DIDO) basis. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role's primary focus is to provide engineering support to the project.

The role

• All aspects of open pit engineering support including: mine planning, design, scheduling, drill & blast support and equipment selection
• Define and monitor progress of daily and weekly operating plans
• Generate operating mine and infrastructure designs as required
• Provide information, data and plans in a clear and concise manner to permit successful daily operation of a mine
• Develop, contribute and initiate Continuous Improvements to the management and operation of the site
• Assist site personnel with management of as required

About you

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Tertiary degree - Mining Engineer or equivalent
• Previous exposure to hard rock open pit mining projects 
• In depth understanding of drill and blast designs and techniques
• Short to medium term planning skills
• Experience managing end of month claims 
• Familiarity with current mine planning software
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Current C Class Drivers Licence
