About the Role

This position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on an 8/6 or 5/2 4/3 roster, with residential or FIFO available. In this role you will:

  • Prepare inputs to form the development budget and provide forecast updates and budget analysis.
  • Identify and deliver improvement opportunities using the BHP Operating System practices
  • Mentor Engineers and Specialists in the team and support the Development Engineering Superintendent
  • Liaise with operational Superintendents and Coordinators to implement improvement initiatives
  • Provide feedback to the Planning team to improve future execution plans, designs, schedules and forecasts;
  • Build and maintain close working relationship with other engineering functions and provide expertise when required

About You

Your success will be heavily influenced by your strong communication, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, coupled with your ability to identify and raise issues, find solutions in complex situations, and decision-making abilities.

You will possess:

  • Significant experience and a tertiary qualification in mining engineering or a closely related field.
  • Operational underground mining experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Financial experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Thorough understanding of the mine development cycle.
  • Experience in managing and implementing improvement initiatives highly regarded.
