Reporting to the Superintendent Underground Planning, the Senior Engineer Mine Planning is accountable for the completion of study work associated with medium to long term underground mining opportunities. The role will also provide assistance to operations, including ventilation modelling, mine designs and scheduling.
In this role you will:
- Develop executable strategic mine designs considering safety, technology, infrastructure, ventilation, sequencing and system constraints.
- Work collaboratively within planning and technical, to apply specialist mining knowledge to solving complex problems.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
About You
Ideally you will have a Tertiary education in Mining Engineering or equivalent. You will have a strategic mindset and possess strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills. In addition, the following skills and experience will be highly regarded:
- Experience in mining engineering roles in an underground working environment.
- Mine Planning experience and report and presentation skills.
- Mine Design and Scheduling software experience (preferably Deswik).
- Knowledge of underground ventilation and Ventsim software.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
