About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Scheduling & Integration, you will play a key role in the WAIO Future Planning EMP Implementation, helping shape how future mine planning is translated into achievable operational outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-profile transformation initiative, applying innovative planning approaches that enhance risk transparency, improve confidence in decision-making, and support more reliable and executable plans across our operations.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support probability model development and validation
- Apply probabilistic planning to Eastern or Central sites 2YP plans
- Translate MTP probability insights into the 2YP planning horizon
- Quantify plan confidence, variability drivers and lowest-probability plan components
- Support site-level risk appetite and mitigation conversations
- Partner with operational and technical stakeholders to understand execution constraints, dependencies and bottlenecks
- Define how probability outputs inform assumptions, buffers, sequencing and mine plan handovers
- Support site routines to interpret and act on probability outputs
About You
You are a technically capable mining professional who enjoys solving complex planning challenges, working across disciplines, and translating analytical insights into practical outcomes.
You will bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, Geology or a related discipline
- Production scheduling or tactical mine planning experience
- Strong understanding of plan executability, constraints, buffers and variability
- Experience working with site teams and operational routines
- Ability to convert probabilistic outputs into practical planning actions
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical insights into practical actions and recommendations
- Experience with probabilistic planning methods or Alastri software would be highly regarded but is not essential
