We are looking for a Senior Mining Systems Engineer or Specialist to work as part of a highly experienced team that supports various Operational Technology platforms and solution in the aboveground mining environment. The role involves a range of critical responsibilities within the mining systems and operational technology domains. It encompasses tasks such as investigating and meticulously documenting system issues and changes, as well as conducting thorough incident investigations. Additionally, the role involves actively identifying opportunities for improvement and collaborating on the development of Project Charters to drive these enhancements.

Reporting to the Superintendent, Mining Systems and working in a collaborative and exciting environment within our Global Operational Technologies Applications team, you will be:
What you’ll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Significant experience in supporting Mine Monitoring and Control applications and associated infrastructure.
- Industry experience working in a project delivery and continuous improvement environment, dealing with internal stakeholders of varied technical levels and vendors.
- On-site experience, with a comprehensive understanding of mining processes and strong knowledge of technical mining applications and technologies.
- Extensive experience with OT networking including optic fibre and copper networks and fixed and mobile wireless network technologies.
- Experience with quality assurance on implementations of solutions on mine sites and various assets.
- Experience providing technical support to field-based technicians across multiple mining technology solutions and architecture.
- Experience supporting site technology roadmap development, adherence, budgeting and execution.
- Experience developing and maintaining technology documentation, work instructions and processes for OT systems
- Experience working with Fleet Management, Machine Guidance, Asset Health and Operator Safety System as well as the associated digital telemetry systems
Qualifications and skills required
- 3+ years hands-on experience and a strong understanding of mining operational technologies, their integration, and applications within mining operations
- 3+ years operational experience in an open cut mining environment
- Understanding of Agile delivery methodology and frameworks along with a understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and software
- Sophisticated knowledge of mining operations and processes, with a focus on surface mining techniques
- Able to work with and develop working relationships with wide range of stakeholders, building relationships, understanding stakeholder requirements and influencing to establish a positive sum solution.
- Advanced computer literacy, strong analytical problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Capacity to perform effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and able to multitask on several activities/priorities at the same time.
- Reporting, reporting tools and database skills are desirable with an understanding of operational time series data constructs.
