Macmahon has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer – Network Security to join our team in Perth. Reporting to the Team Lead – Cyber Systems, the main focus of the role is to contribute to the execution of Macmahon’s cyber security strategy. This role is being offered as a 12-month contract.

The Perth office is strategically located at the Airport (T1/T2) and boasts an impressive staff gym with personal and group training, free secure undercover parking, and electric vehicle charging stations.

The role 

  • Considerable experience in designing and implementing ICT security solutions within a complex ICT working environment
  • Knowledge of Firewalls, Routers, Switches, WAN/LAN technologies and Monitoring Systems
  • Operation and optimisation of Network and Security Devices (firewalls, WAF, Email gateway, security gateways, Cloud technologies, certificates, encryption, EDR solutions etc)
  • Azure Security hardening, Azure Secure Datacentre Design and Deployment (Cloud firewalls, Express Route, Azure Load balancers, NSG, Private Endpoints etc)
  • Considerable experience with Wireless Security Solutions for secure Enterprise access and guest systems
  • Design and implement of Network Access Control/802.1x for wireless and wired connections
  • Develop security solutions architecture aligned to organisational strategy and industry best practice
  • Evaluate, architect, implement, and support security tools and services across business for Macmahon Infrastructure
  • Monitor and analyse security events and alerts to identify and respond to potential threats
  • Support Macmahon’s IT security requirements across all offices and sites
  • Utilise the Service Desk tool to record and update incidents and service requests from receipt through to resolution
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure team to implement Cyber security deliverables
  • Perform tasks allocated by the ‘Team Lead – Cyber Systems’
  • Contribute to projects / initiatives from management team, as required, to improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of Technology & Innovation

Ideal skills and experience

  • Degree / diploma in Cyber Security or related discipline / industry certifications such as CISSP, CISA OR CCNP Security
  • 5 + years’ experience Sys Admin / Network engineer / Cyber engineer role
  • Experience administrating a range of security technologies that include NGFW, Wireless Authentication systems, Endpoint, Email Security, Vulnerability Management, Microsoft Azure AD, Office365
  • Technical proficiency in security-related hardware and software
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
