The recent merger of equals with Silver Lake Resources has created a leading mid-tier ASX Gold producer, with five mine operations in Western Australia and one Canadian operation.

The Role:

As part of our continued commitment to environment, sustainability and community engagement, we are seeking an experienced Senior Environment Advisor to join our team and lead key initiatives across our Deflector/Rothsay sites and the Company in general.

The Senior Environment Advisor - Approvals is a hybrid role designed to:

  1. Lead the Deflector/Rothsay environment team in managing compliance, securing necessary approvals, and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships,
  2. Support the Environment Manager in assisting other Red 5 sites to deliver high-quality approval applications and foster positive stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead, mentor and coordinate the environment team to support the Deflector/Rothsay operations to meet their statutory obligations.
  • Prepare and manage Deflector/Rothsay environment approval applications, including Mining Proposals, Mine Closure Plans, Works Approvals, and other necessary licences.
  • Oversee and manage Deflector Rothsay stakeholder consultation and cultural heritage obligations
  • Ensure the Environmental Management System (EMS) is effectively implemented at Deflector and Rothsay, improving and updating as required across the group.
  • Assist in drafting and review approval applications, including Mining Proposals, Mine Closure Plans, Works Approvals, and other necessary licences for other Red 5 sites.
  • Engage with stakeholders to address issues and ensure effective feedback resolution across other Red 5 sites as required.

About You:

You are an experienced professional with a depth of experience in mining-related environment management practices. You have excellent experience in approvals and reporting, coupled with strong leadership skills, both with your direct reports and the wider site leadership team. Your strong intercommunication skills will assist with effectively engaging stakeholders to foster effective outcomes for the company.

Key factors to your success include:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role within the resources sector.
  • Tertiary degree in an environment discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, report writing, and environment databases (INX).
  • Strong experience with GIS (ARC Pro) and budget management software (Pronto preferred).
  • Strong understanding of environment, mining, heritage, and conservation legislation.
  • Ability to lead environment risk assessments and manage incident investigations (ICAM preferred).

This role will be a 50:50 combination of a Perth base and FIFO roster at Deflector/Rothsay.
