Job Description:
The Senior Environment Advisor will join the King of the Hills/Darlot Environment team, supporting multi-site compliance activities, providing functional support and technical advice to all personnel to implement the Environment Management System and meet the Environment Policy objectives.
This role will be offered on a FIFO 8/6 Roster based at our King of the Hills Operation.
Point of hire: PERTH, WA
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide support and guidance to site management and operational teams in all aspects of environmental management and compliance obligation management
- Assist with the development of regulatory approvals, monitoring systems and regular reporting
- Maintain site environmental obligations registers, environmental management system and monitoring data
- Lead in the development and implementation of environmental and cultural awareness programmes
- Engage with Traditional Owner stakeholders
- Facilitate and participate in community engagement opportunities when required
- Coordinate and manage environmental contractors and consultants working at our operations
- Conduct environmental compliance inspections across all areas of the operations
- Assist with mine closure planning and facilitation of rehabilitation activities
Key factors to your success include:
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or similar
- 5+ years’ experience in an environmental function within the mining industry
- An in-depth knowledge of Western Australian environment and heritage legislative requirements
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, including coordination of heritage surveys and involvement in heritage agreements
- GIS experience/capability is essential (ArcGIS Pro)
- High level of capability in preparing regulatory reporting requirements
- Experience in developing and delivering environmental approvals
- Experience managing environmental monitoring programmes and practical skills
- Demonstrable level of competency in Microsoft Office suite
- Technical understanding of monitoring equipment and analysing results
- WA C class driver’s license (manual transmission)
