Senior Environmental Advisor - Approvals

Work Location: Brisbane

Roster: Monday - Friday

FFI is seeking the services of an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to join the Environment Team to provide environmental advice and champion the environmental approvals for our expanding business across the Australia and New Zealand portfolio of renewables projects.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Provide environmental approvals advice including approvals strategies, schedules and technical innovation to support business objectives
  • Project management of inputs required for approval applications, including environmental studies and other technical disciplines
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments of FFI’s sites and projects, relevant to the diverse portfolio of renewables
  • Preparation and submission of FFI’s Environmental Approval applications
  • Management and supervision of consultants and contractors
  • Communication of FFI’s environmental approvals internally, including close interface with multi-disciplinary stakeholders required for effective EIA
  • Preparation of briefing / engagement materials in support of environmental regulatory engagement, and participation as required
  • Conduct site visits, as required

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge and understanding of various states, Commonwealth environmental legislation
  • A Tertiary Degree in Environmental Science, or equivalent
  • 8 to 12 years’ experience in an environmental role within the energy or resources industry or an associated Government department
  • Demonstrated track record in preparation and delivery of environmental approvals across jurisdictions, for multiple projects
  • Experience in the facilitation of environmental solutions and information exchange across multi-disciplinary stakeholders
  • Demonstrated proficiency in communicating environmental approvals risks and opportunities to achieve optimal project outcomes
  • Advanced reporting writing, interpersonal and communications skills
  • Knowledge environmental relevant to Australian bio-geographic regions locations.
  • Desired – experience in use of GIS software
