SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISOR - PROJECTS

Cadia is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 klms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Employees reside in varied accommodation options in and around the district of Orange with the surrounding area’s occupied by wineries, stone fruit orchards, farming and national parks.

Who we’re looking for
Reporting to the Superintendent – Environment, the primary focus of this fixed term appointment of Senior Environmental Advisor is to ensure environmental projects, such as monitoring network improvements, noise mitigation & compliance projects are executed and delivered. In addition, the Senior will provide generalist environmental support for site operations and project teams.
The ability to interpret, manage and maintain compliance systems such as environmental management plans, program schedules, incident reporting and closeout will form as a significant part in this role.
Key responsibilities
- Project management to ensure the execution of projects on time and within budgets
- Manage and maintain program schedules
- Contractor management to ensure adherence to Newmont policies, standards and procedures
With your ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic work environment, you’ll be structured and well organised, with exceptional time management skills and your stakeholder management and interpersonal skills will be impeccable.
You will also possess the following:
- A Bachelor of Civil or Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in leading the delivery and execution of environmental projects.
- Demonstrated contractor management experience
- Broad knowledge of environmental planning and regulatory framework within a New South Wales context.
- Practical knowledge of the application of environmental monitoring, particularly noise related monitoring activities
- Demonstrated capability in operating and maintaining an environmental management system, environmental risk registers and management plans.
- Incident investigation, auditing skills, data analysis and report writing skills.
