About the Role
- The role is based in Melbourne, with flexible work arrangements available (Can be part time – 80%)
- This vacancy will accept applications until 11:59pm AEST on 2nd January 2024.
The Principal Events supports leaders to ensure they are prepared and supported at significant global media, company and investor events with a focus on event management and logistics to build BHP’s brand and extend the reputation of the company.
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate and manage the events calendar and register.
- Assess corporate event sponsorship opportunities for BHP, and make recommendations to VP Communications, Head of Media and Digital, and other functions.
- Manage corporate events including negotiation and activation to garner reputation benefits for BHP consistent with the Communications strategy.
- Manage BHP’s corporate events including AGM, financial results presentations, other internal and external events involving CEO, Board, and ELT members.
- Research, adopt and implement innovative technologies and platforms to continuously improve audience and presenter experience.
- Manage budget and governance processes, supplier and contractor engagements; brand, sponsorship and events coordination compliance reviews.
About you
- Demonstrate Sponsorship and Event management experience in a similar role
- Experience and knowledge of project management and budgeting principles, methodologies and tools
- Proven ability to influence and develop relationship at all levels of the organization and externally
- Technical knowhow / understanding (of events management – stage production and digital delivery)
- Strong attention to detail and logistical skills
- Demonstrate ability to both manage and be task oriented.
