About the Role
The Geoscience Field Geology (Iron Ore) team are seeking a Senior Exploration Field Geologist to join a safety focussed, technically motivated and results-driven team, working in a positive and inclusive environment. Reporting to the Superintendent Field Geology, this position will be responsible for geological data collection, QAQC, drill hole execution and live field modelling activities. Our team strives to provide targeted, high quality geological interpretations to meet our stakeholder’s needs.
Key responsibilities will include;
- Schedule 26 statutory responsibilities; accountable for the safe execution and direct supervision for 4 – 6 Field Geologists, Graduates and Interns
- Training, mentoring and coaching Geologists in multiple technical disciplines including; drill execution, live field modelling and geochemistry.
- Ensure the objective of each scope of work is clearly understood, executed and delivered to a high standard
- The position requires you to hold others accountable, whilst nurturing a close working relationship with stakeholder groups through your ability to collaborate, influence and negotiate. You may also be expected to step-up and cover Superintendent duties for short periods.
About You
With a tertiary degree in geoscience, the successful applicant will ideally have:
- Previous experience managing a team of Geologists
- A passion for understanding mineral systems, driven by a continuous desire to learn, share knowledge and develop skill-sets of others in pursuit of technical excellence.
- Excellent mentoring skills, with the ability to apply consistent and constructive peer review feedback to multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering technical project work and effectively communicating findings with wider stakeholder groups.
- Capability with 3D (Leapfrog) and 2D (ArcGIS) software will be highly regarded.
- A full current drivers license
