About the Role
Reporting to Superintendent Exploration, you will join a committed team that is motivated to deliver the next ore deposit to Nickel West. The role of Senior Geologist is team oriented with accountabilities including geological data collection, QAQC, drill hole tracking, lab liaison, target generation and geological modelling/interpretation. This opportunity provides the chance to develop your exploration skills in the Agnew-Wiluna Belt - a world class nickel-sulphide province that is highly prospective.
The role is offered on an attractive 7:7 roster located at Leinster on a FIFO or residential basis and forms part of a growing Exploration team.
Responsible for the following:
- Supervise the team in the safe execution of exploration activities, including all geological data acquisition activities
- Responsible for delivery of live geological models that feed back into the Exploration Targeting workflow
- Training, mentoring and coaching Geologists in geochemistry, modelling workflows, mapping, project management and delivery
- Responsible for the end-to-end tracking of exploration data for your projects, aligned to the business priorities
- Good quality, regular field leadership
- Drill hole designs and DHIS, UG drill planning, proposals, IMDEX and acQuire
- Reporting of exploration activities in the form of daily, weekly and monthly reports.
About You
- An overriding commitment to health, safety environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
- Bachelor of Science majoring in geology – advanced degree highly regarded
- Exposure to Kalgoorlie Terrane geology highly regarded
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team oriented environment
- A full current manual driver’s license
