Senior Geologist - Projects
Work Location: Perth - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
This is a role as a Senior Project Geologist that requires knowledge and experience with approvals, different drilling methodologies, drill planning, geological processes, data collection, reporting and analysis.
Key responsibilities include:
- Initiate and implement improvements in data capture, workflows and accountability
- Analyse drilling data ensuring the data quality is of a high standard and auditable
- Document business requirements which are aligned to data governance objectives. The role also requires you to influence, collaborate and build consensus with stakeholders to arrive at decisions
- Responsible for contributing to concepts, business cases, preparation and management of project plans, risks, and issues from project inception through to implementation using industry standard project management methodologies.
Qualification and Experience:
- A degree in Geology or an equivalent
- Experience within the drilling, mining/metals, or oil and gas industries is preferable
- Experience in different geological roles e.g., mine geology, exploration, resource definition, planning and scheduling
- Project management experience is highly desirable
- Demonstrated knowledge of MS Excel
- Experience in Tableau, acQuire, ArcGIS and Vulcan is highly desirable
