About the Role
This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide front end technical input into a large, long life nickel operation. You will receive exposure to a vast range of geotechnical challenges and a rare opportunity to experience various Sub-Level Caving and Block Caving mining methods. M ain Accountabilities include:
- Providing geotechnical advice to mining operations to ensure geotechnical risks are effectively identified managed and controlled.
- Providing geotechnical input into the short term production planning and scheduling process.
- Undertaking geotechnical assessments of the underground excavations, rock mass response to mining and ground support performance.
- Rock mass characterization for input into excavation stability analysis.
- Manage the geotechnical aspects of day-to-day operations.

About You
To be considered for this role you will demonstrate the following attributes:
- A degree (bachelor or higher) in Mining, Civil or Geological Engineering. Applicants with a degree in Geology plus relevant training and industry experience will be considered;
- Solid geotechnical experience in underground hard rock mines. Caving exposure highly regarded.
- Demonstrated track record of involvement and achievement in successful projects working as both an individual and team member.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proficient in mining and geotechnical software (preferably Deswik, RocScience, IMS).
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to significantly contribute to a high performing team.
