Senior Groundwater Modeller

Work Location: Perth - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.

Roster: Monday to Friday (Perth Based with periodic site work as required)

Fortescue’s groundwater modelling team is expanding with new projects and continued interaction with our existing operations.  An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Groundwater Modeller to join our water planning team in Perth. This role will focus on building and running numerical groundwater models for our operational projects, providing high level modelling expertise whilst liaising with multiple stakeholders from Dewatering Operations, Surface Water Planning, Mine Planning and Approvals.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop calibrated hydrogeological groundwater models
• Provide groundwater modelling assessment of dewatering requirements of mine plans across all time horizons
• Support approvals, licencing, and closure teams
• Support geotechnical and mining operations
• Communicate model results
• Ensure all stakeholders needs are met in a timely manner

Education and Experience:

• Tertiary Degree in Science or Engineering with relevant experience in Hydrogeology
• 5+ years in a similar modelling role with Leapfrog, FEFLOW, Vistas and Python experience highly regarded
• Demonstrated numerical and analytical skills
• Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proven experience in meeting deadlines and taking initiative
