We are looking for a Senior HR Advisor to provide HR Relationship Management, operational & tactical support to the Copper business unit. This role is offering the opportunity to be based in Perth or Brisbane on a permanent full-time basis.

With a global reach, the opportunities to develop and grow your career are broad and exciting.In our team, we look to our Senior Advisors to provide Human Resource support and advice, including the provision of coaching to leaders within the Copper remit on the application of Human Resource systems while ensuring the implementation and execution of Rio Tinto Human Resource policies and programs. As a senior member of our team, you will be leading by example, have a love and focus on developing team members, be very customer focused and comfortable working with our senior leaders in the business on complex and confidential matters. Being pragmatic and able to manage anything and everything that may arise is a key part of this role.
- Participating as a member of the Copper HR team
- Lead process champion initiatives such as employee engagement, performance and capability improvement
- Act as process / project sponsor for key projects or process improvements
- Influence and guide team members, displaying the expected leader behaviour
- Delivering complex and high-level human resources advice and service to leaders
- Advise on human resources policies and procedures, employee relations, performance and regulatory issues
- Provide coaching to leaders in our business to support effective workplace relationships and increase skill level in employee management; drive leader self-service capability
- Identify and drive improvement initiatives and solutions to enhance people effectiveness/productivity
- Develop skills and provide advice, support and coach in the use of human resources systems (e.g., remuneration/benefits, performance management)
- Support case management
- Partner with Human Resource Business Partners with the implementation of initiatives and recurring annual activities such as remuneration review, talent review and performance
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or other relevant field or equivalent industry experience.
- Solid HR generalist experience.
- Track record of HR project delivery, commitment to service excellence and proven experience in stakeholder engagement and management.
- Experience working with clients at all organisation levels across-cultural environment
- HRIS experience strongly preferred (preferably with SAP)
- Strong communication, problem solving and analysis skills
- Effective time management and personal organisational skills – autonomous approach to work
- Knowledge of MS Office / Teams / SharePoint
- A willingness to learn
- Knowledge of the Rio Tinto Policies, Standards and Procedures highly desirable
- Experience using HSE Management Systems and BI Reporting tools highly advantageous

People Services provide HR advisory, global mobility, talent acquisition and recruitment, employee relations, remuneration and performance services to leaders, employees & HR business partners
