We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HST Advisor for our Mt Colin mine site. Mt Colin operation is an underground copper / gold mine located halfway between Mount Isa and Cloncurry in Northwest Queensland.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining Aeris’ safety management processes and assisting with the development and rollout of safety and health initiatives and training across the Mt Colin operation. You will be successful in this role by consulting with stakeholders regularly while driving HSEC performance. You have excellent interpersonal skills, communication abilities and a willingness to work with people at all levels of the organisation.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Assist with providing leadership and training to ensure that all employees and contractors adhere to requirements in the Safety Health Management System (SHMS)
- Aeris’ risk management and safety plans are stored in a SHMS/sanctioned by statutory leaders
- Leading and conducting with Incident Investigations and analysis to identify root causes and trends
- Carrying out risk assessments and site audits/workplace inspections as required
- Facilitating tool box, safety meetings and training courses as required
- Provide site with health, safety and training technical support
- Continuous improvement to ensure work site safety is of the highest possible standard
- Assist in the review of procedures in place to control the risks to workers to ensure it is at an acceptable level
- HSEC Document Control and Internal Revision of HSE Documents
- Manage various site registers as required
- Minimum of a Certificate IV in OHS/WHS ((Essential)
- Previous operational experience within mining and civil projects is ideal
- ICAM Lead Investigator (Preferred) Or ICAM trained
- Experience in INX – Safety Management System, and Chem Alert desired
- Strong understanding of applicable QLD legislation
- Ability to communicate information quickly and precisely
- Ability to prioritize work commitments and meet deadlines
- Manual Drivers License required
