We are Australia’s largest pure-play coal producer generating over $10 billion in Foreign Direct Investment; owning, operating or participating in coal mines across NSW, Queensland and Western Australia. 

Managed by Yancoal, Cameby Downs is a small open cut thermal coal mine in the Surat Basin in southern Queensland, between Chinchilla and Miles. We employ approximately 230 people, and aim to support our local communities.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Cameby Downs is seeking a Senior HST Advisor to support the HST Superintendent and the site HST team.

The role will require the successful applicant to work a Monday to Friday roster

EXPECATIONS

Drive and encourage a strong team culture between crews where you can

Assist the HST Superintendent to oversea, mentor and guide the site HST team

Be responsible for maintaining a positive work environment to increase work productivity

Promote a Continuous improvement mindset so team members are encouraged to show initiative

Ensure team members adhere to all CDM SHMS procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

Current S11 induction

Senior First Aid Certificate 

QLD Drivers Licence 

Skills and Experience

Demonstrated experience in the provision of HST function within the Mining industry (Two years or more)

Demonstrated experience in building relationships with site personnel in relation to safety compliance and associated matters

Demonstrated high level of communication

In conjunction with departments leaders, foster a proactive and productive safety culture

Abel to demonstrate courage to uphold standards, policies and procedures

Experienced in conducting training needs analysis and using information to create an effective and site specific training agenda

Familiar with QLD Coal Mining Legislative retirements 

Experience with Emergency Response & Training compliance

Risk facilitation and implementation

Strong knowledge of legal compliance including Systems & Compliance Auditing

Computer literacy-able to us MS Office suite of programs and safety database programs e.g CMO or FPE

QUALIFICATIONS

Formal qualification in an associated OHS discipline 

Current Supervisor Competencies RIIRIS301, RIICOM301, RIIWHS301, RIIRIS401

Current Risk Management Competency RIIRIS601

Qualified Rehabilitation Coordinator
