We are looking for a Senior Human Resource Manager to support the Aluminium Pacific Operations achieve its business priorities and subsequent projects through human resources business partnering, training and indigenous employment for our Weipa operation.

This role is a great opportunity for a highly experienced HR professional to support to the business across a range of HR processes, policies and programs.

Reporting to the General Manager Human Resources, you will be:

  • Translating business strategies, objectives and context into a human resource strategy.
  • Constructively challenging and coaching leaders on their individual and collective effectiveness.
  • Supporting leadership to define, build, and improve employee engagement.
  • Engaging with leaders and leadership teams to position the need for change in relation to business objectives, and provide support to deliver, manage, and sustain the change.
  • Collaborating with Areas of Expertise (AoE), Shared Services, and other internal service providers to deliver on identified HR needs within the business.
  • Providing feedback and input into the effectiveness of HR processes, policies, programs, and systems to AoEs, Shared Services, and other parts of the organization.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have: 

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role with a strong focus on safety.
  • Experience coaching and influencing operational leadership teams in a way that tests conventional thinking and challenges the status quo.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of contemporary HR systems, processes and obligations.
  • Experience in organisational design and implementation of appropriate tools and systems, organisation and development interventions and employee / labour relations.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategy development and delivery.

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • Applicable tertiary qualification.
  • Experience with work readiness and indigenous employment strategies and programs.
