Role: Senior Land Advisor (International Focus)

Work Location: Perth

Roster: Monday to Friday

FFI’s Corporate Project Readiness Team is being established to support FFI’s Regional teams in areas we know are essential to early success in project development: Land, Approvals and Environment.

Reporting to the Head of Global Project Readiness, this role will support the FFI Acquisitions, Projects and Approvals teams to support in securing land, infrastructure and maintaining project tenure.

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for designing and implementing reporting frameworks as well as collating, analysing and presenting key data for our global portfolio of projects, activities, subsidiaries and locations.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Assist with implementation of Land, Approvals and Environment management system
  • Provide advice, direction and assistance to acquire land and sea usage rights through legislation and government processes including advice to keep holdings in good standing
  • Coordinate the flow of information between in-country, project and approval teams related to land access or other natural resources
  • Prepare project information to support submission of applications for land or other natural resources
  • Record and report on the status of land and sea rights
  • Manage advice from external legal, third-party consultants and provide recommendations to the business
  • Ensure the security, long term viability and successful management of FFI’s land and sea portfolio
  • Advise on project tenure working closely with Perth based and in country teams including internal and external legal, government, energy, projects, engineering, environment, communities and corporate departments to advance the project’s development activities to meet project schedules

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Law, Property or Planning
  • Land Management Database and GIS skills, drafting Access and Compensation Agreements
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating, acquiring and managing land and tenure for significant infrastructure projects
  • Strong interpersonal and influential stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to provide solutions working in fast-paced environment across multiple jurisdictions, time zones, transactions and competing deadlines

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a global business
  • Proficiency in languages other than English (Spanish, French, German)
  • Experience with renewable energy, chemical manufacture or traditional energy projects
  • Experience with GIS, geospatial tools, geospatial analysis and mapping
