Rio Tinto’s Asset Management team is looking to recruit a tertiary qualified Senior Maintenance Engineer, Fixed Plant to support our Marandoo operation in the Pilbara of Western Australia.

Reporting to the Manager, Fixed Plant and MEM, this leadership role will be responsible for a technical team consisting of Mechanical engineers, Process engineers, Capital Project Engineer, Asset Health Technicians, and Process technicians.

What you’ll bring

To be considered suitable for this position, applicants will have:

·         A demonstrated commitment to safety leadership

·         Proven leadership capability across multi-disciplinary technical teams

·         Sound technical knowledge of Fixed Plant maintenance

·         Mechanical or Process Engineering tertiary qualification

·         Demonstrated site based, open pit mining experience

·         A current and full manual “C” Class drivers’ licence

Ideally, applicants will bring:

·         Passion for defect elimination and problem solving

·         An ability to determine priorities based on multiple inputs and stakeholders

·         A self-starter mindset to provide guidance and direction to a technical team

·         Capability to “be on the dance floor” and the wisdom to know when to be on the “balcony”

This position will be offered on a fly in, fly out roster from Perth (5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off) and will suit Perth residents or those willing to relocate to Perth on a permanent basis.

The Marandoo mine is located at the foot of Mount Bruce adjacent to the Karijini National Park, 50 km east of the town of Tom Price in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Marandoo is known for its picturesque hills and mountain ranges. Our operation currently employs a fly in fly out workforce.
