ABOUT GEMCO

Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 20% of the world’s manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent position on a 4:3 Monday to Thursday roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns. Residential option to live on Groote Eylandt considered.  

As the Senior Maintenance Engineer for Mobile Assets, managing a team of 7, you will provide technical leadership and defect elimination expertise to improve mobile equipment reliability and support asset strategy decisions.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

·         Guide trade teams with timely, practical engineering solutions

·         Lead reliability investigations & recommend strategy changes

·         Drive performance improvement across availability, MTBF & cost

·         Oversee capital business cases for mobile fleet replacements

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

·         Leading multidisciplinary teams with influence across levels

·         Applying structured root cause analysis and reliability methods

·         Interpreting complex data to improve performance outcomes

·         Building strong relationships across technical & trade teams

Qualifications for this position are: 

·         Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or relevant experience in an associated Engineering discipline
