Senior Maintenance Planner

Macmahon is accepting applications from Senior Maintenance Planners for our Foxleigh Mine Project.  This $250 million, 5 year project (to March 2026) for QMetco encompasses the provision of mobile plant and maintenance services. Located in Queensland’s Bowen Basin coalfield, 12km south of Middlemount and 272km northwest of Rockhampton, this project suits DIDO from the Mackay, Middlemount or Rockhamptons areas. 

You will be passionate about planning for and ensuring expert coordination of logistics and resources to support the project’s delivery of superior maintenance services to our client.

The role focus

• Coordinate logistics & resources for the mobile maintenance weekly execution plans 
• Prioritise and allocate resources for planned work packages
• Closely liaise with personnel regarding planning & requirements
• Adhere to Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulations at all times 
• Identify scope, work steps, resources and equipment required to achieve planned work
• Ensure the labour and materials are specified for the identified jobs
• Create new work orders inclusive of scope of works, parts required, tooling required, labour resources required, supporting documents required etc.
• Create the maintenance short term plans, ensure the plan is then incorporated in the mine short term plan
• Manage back & forward logs
• Develop a one week schedule for each crew 
• Consolidation of multiple jobs on the same equipment or system 
• Allow for emergencies, high priority and reactive jobs by scheduling 80% of the available hours
• Support the Maintenance Supervisors with breakdown work orders resource requirements and progress updates
• Maintain workshop records, equipment records and registers 
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of the maintenance system 

The ideal candidate

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Trade qualification or equivalent
• 5-10yrs+ experience in Mining or Maintenance 
• Experience with heavy mobile equipment maintenance
• Demonstrated experience with various CMM systems
• Advanced organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Passion for planning and coordinating
• Acute understanding of maintenance operations
