About the role
Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.
The implementation of Modern Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) is a critical step in Rio Tinto’s transformation journey, moving from outdated technology (ECC6) to a new, digitally enabled platform (s4) and application ecosystem. As this is a business led, Group-wide transformation effort, it requires a strong team to bridge the business and technology landscapes. From asset management to procurement, every aspect of our operations will benefit from this modernisation that offers an exciting opportunity to deliver a digital foundation that will stand Rio Tinto up well for ongoing digital transformation.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Data & Analytics ERP Workstream Lead who will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of the data and analytics workstream within the Program and aligned to broader D&A strategy and business context and landscape.
This role involves leading data workstream leads, coordinating with cross-functional teams, managing business and compliance stakeholders, and ensuring data quality, governance and compliance standards are maintained throughout program delivery.
Specifically, this role has a primary program accountability to a multi-disciplined team to deliver the Data Migration, Data Remediation, Data Governance, and Reporting, Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) outcomes; ensuring solutions and outcomes meet business needs and are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Working in a matrix organisation with a dual reporting line, you will be responsible for:
- Project and Delivery Management: Oversight and assurance of the delivery of data projects from initiation to completion, ensuring quality development of detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, with an iterative learning loop to foster improvements within and beyond the workstream for successful outcomes.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of data and analytics professionals responsible for delivery of outcomes within the Program within a hybrid delivery model with key internal and external partners. Ensure workstreams are appropriately resourced, priorities and responsibilities clearly understood and aligned, ensuring team members have the support and resources they need to succeed. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage with stakeholders to understand their business outcomes and needs and translate these to technical solutions and an integrated delivery plan that considers respective priorities and dependencies, broader business and program context, and iterative value opportunities. Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and senior management. Manage expectations and ensure that stakeholders are satisfied with the project outcomes.
- Integrated and Sustainable Outcomes: Engage as an active member of the IS&T Data & Analytics leadership team to ensure alignment and integrated planning of Program and non-Program deliverables and strategic decisions, for greatest efficiency, value and sustainable outcomes.
- Technical Oversight and Assurance: Ensure technical deliverables are of high quality, aligned to sustaining standards and practices, and the relevant SMEs (within and beyond Program team) are consulted where required. Ensure currency with technologies and best practices to drive innovation in outcomes and technical delivery.
- Reporting and Documentation: Oversight and assurance of workstream presentations, reporting and technical documentation, ensuring proactive planning, monitoring and quality of outputs.
