About the role

We are looking for a Senior Manager – Indigenous leadership to lead, develop and maintain a business focused, high performance culture enabling continuous improvement in Indigenous employees’ performance, development, and advancement. Implementing and monitoring planning processes to deliver on the Australian Indigenous Relations strategy through inspired leadership focused on a culture of team accountability, operational discipline, and continuous improvement.
The Senior manager – Indigenous Leadership will work closely with a wide variety of stakehoders both internally and externally, enabling sustainable development, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, by establishing and maintaining effective systems, standards and procedures that drive behaviours.
Reporting to the Global Chief Advisor Indigenous Relations you will:
Provide leadership and accountability for the performance of the Indigenous Leadership team and ensure overall quality execution of tasks/services and interactions with our partner communities
Mapp out and removing barriers to employment, develop competency frameworks, Indigenous programs, cultural knowledge, training, and skills focussed on Indigenous talent management
Cultivating external relationships focused on healing, listening and collaboration to rebuild reputation and increase Indigenous participation in both internal and external forums
Engaging with senior leaders in the business to raise awareness of the program and confirm specific outcomes/plans in their teams/groups
Driving the implementation strategies to maximise asset potential and deliver on the plans; aligning resources, people, succession plans and development
Ensuring that any work that may impact local communities only proceeds following appropriate engagement and consultation
Identifying and quantifying the risks inherent in the budget and departmental operations define and mandate appropriate mitigation strategies
Growing cultural knowledge and championing genuine development and advancement for Indigenous employees; building an Indigenous friendly business to attract and retain Indigenous talent
What you will bring
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your colleagues
Extensive experience in building relationships with Indigenous people, Indigenous communities and stakeholders
Extensive experience driving implementation strategies to deliver on plans; aligning resources, people, succession plans and development
Previous experience in enabling corporate and shareholder value through demonstrated achievement toward the strategic objectives
Extensive leadership experience – ability to coach and mentor large teams
Extensive experience cultivating external and internal relationships focused on healing, listening and collaboration in both internal and external forums
Strong abilities to identify and articulate the need for change to deliver on operational objectives; supports, drives, and monitor change initiatives.
Strong experience in identifying and quantifying the risks inherent in the budget and departmental operations and defining appropriate mitigation strategies

The role will be based in Brisbane (Meanjin) or Perth (Boorloo).
