Work Location: Perth - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: Monday – Friday

The Senior Manager Metals Technology is a key leadership role within Fortescue Integrated Technology (FIT), reporting to the Group Manager – FIT. It is responsible for leading a cross-functional team to deliver a complex portfolio of digital technology initiatives, products and services supporting Fortescue Metals’ strategic goals.

Highly visible across the Metals organisation, the role partners with senior business and technology leaders to align priorities, investments and integrated roadmaps, while driving value, performance, innovation and successful business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the holistic management of a significant digital technology portfolio spanning projects, products, applications and services.
• Manage portfolio composition, monitor progress and proactively resolve competing priorities, risks and issues.
• Lead strategic and operational portfolio planning, ensuring technology initiatives align with enterprise and Metals business priorities.
• Prioritise value delivery and bring portfolio activities together through an integrated, single-view approach.
• Lead delivery of major technology projects, ensuring appropriate prioritisation and resourcing, and delivery within agreed scope, schedule and budget.
• Partner with digital and business leaders to align priorities, standards, investments, integrated roadmaps and measures of success.
• Establish and champion common ways of working, shared processes and systems across technology teams and specialist resources.
• Build a culture of shared accountability, high performance, continuous learning and innovation across the team.
• Monitor and report portfolio performance, providing transparency across technology investment and delivery.
• Work with technology leaders to build digital literacy and communicate technology initiatives effectively across all levels of the organisation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive experience leading teams delivering digital technology-enabled transformational change across medium to high-complexity environments and diverse stakeholder groups.
• Demonstrated experience managing a diverse technology portfolio encompassing projects, products, applications and services at a global scale.
• Proven experience translating strategic goals and portfolio objectives into actionable, integrated plans and roadmaps.
• Significant leadership and people management experience, including management of financial and physical resources within large, diverse teams.
• Proven experience applying Agile, iterative, human-centred design and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Business or a related field.
• Certification in recognised Portfolio, Program or Project Management frameworks such as PMBoK, MoP, MSP or PRINCE2 is required.
• Certification in Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Scaled Agile.
• Strong financial management, planning, reporting and change management capability.
• Exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
