We are seeking a Senior Manager, Procurement Experience & Capability to join our Strategy & Governance team to drive process improvement and to elevate capability within the Rio Tinto Procurement function. This role requires a transformational mindset to review, refine and practically apply current processes, policies, procedures and standards to support the business objectives and growth agenda of the Rio Tinto Procurement function.
This role is a great opportunity for a passionate leader who can bring people together to effectively implement, lead and govern best practices and efficiencies within Procurement.
Reporting to the General Manager, Strategy & Governance you will:
- Take ownership and manage continuous improvement of policies, processes, tools, techniques, master data governance and operating methodology aligned to business goals and growth objectives
- Manage multiple streams of work across the Procurement function
- Apply an agile and transformational mindset that adapts and adjusts to meet the demands and requirements of an evolving business
- Shape and evolve improvement architecture as the Strategy to Pay Global Process Owner, gathering external thought leadership
- Respectfully challenge the status quo to drive innovation and deep thought in the Procurement Experience and Capability knowledge area
- Implement standardised methodologies across the Procurement function ensuring that current and new employees are abreast of policies, processes and procedures and are consistently applying them
- Partner with the Procurement community to define and implement the training and capability framework and curriculum, ensuring measurement and benchmarking to drive effectiveness and functional performance
- Support and partner with Purchase to Pay teams and other internal stakeholders to implement continuous improvement initiatives based on the needs of the Procurement function
- Lead and continuously develop a high performing team, including six-eight direct reports
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Strong commercial awareness, structured presentation and interpersonal skills as well as drive, determination and belief
- Sound understanding and deep experience in working end to end business process design and improvement
- Extensive knowledge and experience in improvement approaches such as end user experience, Agile, Lean, Continuous Improvement or Six Sigma
- Demonstrable experience in project, stakeholder and change management methodologies to successfully deliver sustainable improvement outcomes
- Experience in facilitating workshops to engage teams to understand business objectives and apply changes to current ways of working as required
- Strong partnership mindset and experience in engaging with and coaching key stakeholders up to senior leader level in the delivery of improvement projects and continuous improvement
- A natural leader with a high level of initiative, integrity, motivation and drive to succeed
- Demonstrated ability to live Rio Tinto’s values that relate to everyday respect for our teams and stakeholders
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Background in Procurement, specifically in Strategy to Pay (S2P)
