As Fortescue works towards a more sustainable future and decarbonises its iron ore operations, we’re seeking a strategic leader to drive transformative change. As Senior Manager, Warehouse Operations, you’ll shape an integrated, efficient and customer-focused operation spanning our sites.

Lead the people, operations and transformation of warehouse services across Fortescue's Pilbara operations. As Senior Manager Warehouse Operations, you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable delivery of warehouse services across multiple sites, supporting the availability of essential parts and materials that keep our mining operations performing at their best.

This is an opportunity to influence the future of warehousing and logistics across a complex, geographically dispersed operating environment. Working closely with Maintenance, Operations, Supply Chain and Logistics teams, you will drive service excellence while supporting Fortescue's transition towards a more integrated, centralised and sustainable warehousing model. Combining strategic leadership with hands-on operational understanding, this role offers the opportunity to deliver meaningful improvements in efficiency, capability and customer outcomes across the Pilbara.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop a geographically dispersed warehouse workforce across multiple Pilbara operations, building strong leadership capability, accountability and succession pathways.
  • Provide visible safety leadership across all warehouse activities, ensuring compliance with critical controls, operational procedures and safe work practices.
  • Oversee end-to-end warehouse operations, ensuring the safe and efficient receipt, storage, handling and dispatch of parts and materials to meet operational requirements.
  • Drive high standards of inventory accuracy, parts availability and on-time service delivery, minimising operational delays and improving customer satisfaction.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimise warehouse productivity, streamline workflows, reduce waste and strengthen operational efficiency.
  • Utilise operational data, performance measures and root-cause analysis to identify bottlenecks, resolve recurring issues and deliver sustainable improvements.
  • Build strong partnerships with Maintenance, Operations, Supply Chain, Planning and Logistics teams to align warehouse services with operational priorities and customer requirements.
  • Support strategic transformation initiatives, including the transition towards centralised warehousing and logistics, adoption of new technologies and decarbonisation of supply chain operations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive experience in warehouse operations, materials management, logistics or supply chain leadership within mining, resources, heavy industry or similarly complex operational environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading large, geographically dispersed or multi-site operational teams, including developing frontline leaders and building high-performing workplace cultures.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse management practices, inventory control, materials handling, parts availability and operational service delivery.
  • Proven experience implementing safety management practices and critical controls across warehouse operations, including mobile equipment, loading and unloading, dangerous goods and manual handling activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence through process improvement, standardisation, performance monitoring and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service capability, with experience collaborating across Maintenance, Operations, Supply Chain and Logistics functions.
  • Experience leading operational change, technology adoption or warehouse transformation initiatives, with exposure to centralised logistics or integrated supply chain models highly regarded.
  • Relevant tertiary or vocational qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Operations Management or a related discipline is desirable, supported by strong commercial awareness and leadership capability.
