Senior Materials and Logistics Officer - Manufacturing

Work location: Dawson Road, Perth Airport

Roster: Monday to Friday

Working as part of the Manufacturing Shared Services Team for Fortescue Future Industries (FFI), the Material and Logistics Officer is responsible for coordinating logistic activities to ensure receipt, storage and distributing of finished goods to support a large expanding Manufacturing Product Portfolio.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide materials procurement & logistics expertise
  • Understand & comply with all FMG/FFI Procurement policies & procedures
  • Timely processing of Purchasing and logistics requests from the Manufacturing and Contracts & Procurement Teams
  • Recording, tracking, and reporting of all Purchase Order status
  • Expedite Orders from Suppliers
  • Arrange local, interstate, and international freight movements
  • Liaise with Suppliers, Receivers and Freight forwarders to ensure all required import and export documentation is provided in an accurate and timely manner
  • Procurement/SAP Support and Training for Project Coordinators and new team members
  • Support Warehouse Assistant with SAP Goods Receipting, Warehouse/General tasks and training
  • Assist with sourcing, testing, implementation, and continuous improvement of Inventory Tracking Solution
  • Continuous improvement of systems and processes
  • Liaise with Suppliers, Purchasing, Vendor Info and Accounts Payable Teams to resolve invoice exceptions via SAP Workflow. Proactively monitor timely invoice payment and resolve issues before late payment
  • Process Service Entry Sheets (SES) for all Service Purchase Orders
  • Complete EOM Accruals for Material Purchase Orders and assist technical teams with accruals for Service Orders

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Initiative, able to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders independently and in a team environment
  • Skilled at multi-tasking and time management. Flexible mindset and the ability to prioritise tasks in a very dynamic, fast paced, high-pressure environment
  • Understanding of entire Supply Chain process – Procure to Pay
  • Knowledge of Incoterms
  • Knowledge of Dangerous Goods documentation, shipping, handling, and storage requirements
  • 5+ years’ experience in a procurement, warehousing, logistics or inventory control role
  • SAP MM experience
  • SAP PM experience
  • SAP Fiori experience
  • High Risk Forklift (LF) Licence
