ABOUT PORT KEMBLA COAL TERMINAL (PKCT)

South32 Illawarra Metallurgical Coal manages PKCT on behalf of its shareholders.  PKCT is a key coal exporting facility on Australia’s east coast, located 75 km south of Sydney. It services two of the nation’s richest coal reserves, the Southern and Western coalfields of New South Wales, receiving and loading high quality coking and thermal coal for export around the world.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a permanent full-time position based at Port Kembla Coal Terminal in Wollongong.

As the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will provide technical support for rail mounted machines, conveyors and dynamic structures by applying engineering standards while supporting asset management, maintenance and reliability to ensure PKCT assets are safe, reliable and optimised.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Lead, coach and mentor asset team to ensure delivery against required performance
• Refine asset management plans and work management systems for stackers, reclaimer, shiploaders and conveyors to inform the budgeting process and whole of life plans
• Evaluate the impact of planned capital and maintenance changes on asset condition and potential risk
• Assist in the design, planning, estimation, installation and commissioning of new or recommended plant changes ensuring change management processes are followed and that master data is maintained

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Asset management expertise in resource industry including FMCEA/RCM facilitation
• Solid experience introducing, maintaining and/or modifying assets and infrastructure in a heavy industry environment
• Project, Risk and change management experience
• Ability to effectively communicate and influence across various levels of the business

Qualifications for this position are:

• Bachelor of Engineer – Mechanical or equivalent
